Bio
Nuépa is an independent Portuguese-Canadian artist whose music is a captivating fusion of genres, mixing infectious pop melodies, house beats, and raw rap verses. Nuépa fearlessly explores the intersections of identity, sexuality, and mental health through music, leaving listeners hungry for more.
Nuépa's lyrics are a reflection of their identity, ranging from raunchy sex-positive rap anthems to introspective garage-pop. Through their music, Nuépa invites listeners into a world where vulnerability is celebrated, and no body is left out.
With the recent release of their 2nd EP FOCUS, Nuépa has refined their signature sound and doubled down on the high-calibre variety show audiences have come to expect. Every song on the new record sounds wildly different from the last, staying true to Nuépa's genre-fusion aesthetic.
On July 23rd, Nuépa won Queer Solo Artist of the Year at the first annual Q Music Awards in Sankofa Square, Toronto. Nuépa has also been recognized by major organizations such as INSPIRE Media, The Pink Pages, Pride Radio Canada, The Q Musicale, Sankofa Square, Pride Toronto, Hamilton Pride, Bear World Magazine, The Distillery District Toronto, The Queer Bunch Podcast, On The Couch (Rogers TV), The Q Reviews, Queer FM Vancouver, Bradley Museum Mississauga, Subterra Bar Osaka, Peel Pride and London Pride (UK).
Nuépa is on the rise.
